Hiding behind God
We don't often hear of the fascist's use of religion.
But it was one of fascism's tools. This was particulary true for Spain and Italy, but even the Nazis used religion to their ends.
Here is a 1930's poster by John Heartfield depicting the extent to which the German clergy had enmbraced fascism.
Hitler established a German church. Here we have a picture of the Deutsche Christen clergy marching with an SA honor guard
